Lee Murdock's Christmas Ship Concert December 16th (Thursday) 7:00-8:30 p.m. Around the turn of the 20th century many vessels served as Christmas tree ships. Captains who traded back and forth across Lake Michigan would make one last run before the lake became too dangerous for navigation–hauling fresh-cut evergreens for Christmas. Because this last voyage came so close to the storm season, it held some danger. Lee Murdock performs the music and tells the stories of the Great Lakes region’s rich maritime history.

Taxes Are Everybody's Business January 11th (Tuesday) 7:00-8:30 p.m. In this workshop, Judi will review the key elements of the prior tax acts as well as the tax law extensions from the congressional session at the end of 2010. She will discuss important deductions such as medical and contributions - and common tax problems. She will focus on the specific changes for tax year 2010 (and the new IL use tax on the IL 1040) as well as what to expect in 2011. It’s time to get ready for tax time!

January 25th (Tuesday) 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. De Paul University Distinguished Professor of Psychology (and Lisle resident), Joseph Ferrari explains why some people habitually, compulsively, & chronically delay the start or completion of tasks to the point that they become upset and worried about meeting the deadlines. Dr. Ferrari, author of a new book on procrastination, has suggestions for breaking this bad habit and finally starting to get things done. Don’t put it off, register and join us.

Organizing for Anyone January 27th (Thursday) 7:0-8:30 p.m. Professional organizer Beth Randall, owner of Joe Organizer, will give some practical advice for organizing everything: closets, pantries, basements, desks. Wherever your clutter lives, Beth has ideas for clearing it! She will also give tips from her booklet on holding your best garage sale ever.
