OPENING TOMORROW (Softly)!

Revised April 3, 2008

We're back! Non-fiction opens tomorrow and the meeting rooms return to being meeting rooms and are available for scheduling for programs and group meetings. Already there is quite a full schedule of meeting room events; see our on-line calendar for all the details. Although it will take the library some time to get everything back in place and work out all the niceties of life after renovation, we are pleased to allow patron access to all of the collection and to have staff available for patron assistance at their (new) regular locations. The internet has returned to Adult Services and soon all the new things will seem normal and (we hope) will be working better than ever.

We're hard at work today getting ready, but we expect to be upgrading our level of readiness for a few additional days after opening. The reintegration of the non-fiction back into the main collection is accomplished in stages, but is coming along very well. Look for a new Biography section, where books on the lives of famous (and not-so-famous) people are collected under the names of the people about whom the books are written.

Sunday there is a Friends of the Library-sponsored travelogue in the Meeting Room.

Remember the new traffic pattern: enter on Front Street (either drive) and exit only onto Kingston.

The shelving in place.

The shelves are in their new locations!

The internet stations are waiting for patrons!

The reference desk is ready for staffing!

We're back!
