Your Library Card

All Lisle Library District residents are eligible for a library card.  The library district includes most of Lisle,  including unincorporated subdivisions such as Four Lakes, Woodridge Estates and The Meadows.  Portions of unincorporated Naperville, including Steeple Run, are also included in the district.  Lisle Library District residents pay taxes to the library district, which is reflected on their tax bill.  Everyone in the household is entitled to a library card, regardless of age.

  • A photo ID and proof of residency (lease, utility bill or checkbook) presented in person, is necessary to obtain a library card.  A driver's license or state ID is sufficient for proof  if the address is current.
  • Children under the age of 18 need to have a parent/guardian present when registering.

The non-resident library card fee is determined by the net tax value of the property, times the current tax rate.  For example, if the property's net value is $100,000 and the tax rate is 0.3114, the cost for an entire family's non-resident library cards for one year will be $311.40. To apply for a non-resident card, please bring a copy of your most recent tax bill, along with a photo ID, to the library.

Before visiting the library, you can now pre-register for a library card by filling out our online form.

Reciprocal Borrowers

If you have a current library card in good standing from another library you may register to become a reciprocal borrower with Lisle Public Library.  To do this, you will need to present your library card at the main circulation desk along with identification. Reciprocal borrowers cannot place holds, request interlibrary loans or access subscription databases from home.
