Position Description: The Lisle Libary District is looking for somone with an uncanny knack for matching a great book (movie, music, etc.) to a patron. Responsibilities include public service on the reference desk, readers' advisory, digital instruction in small group or lab setting, significant collection development responsibilities, and will also include facilitating a book group (interest in Science Fiction/Fantasy a plus!). The successful candidate must be able to readily adapt to and appreciate technology with a high level of fluency with traditional software, technology and social network platforms. Excellent understanding of information literacy and extensive knowledge of adult literature required.
Qualifications: Candidates must have an MLS in Library and Information Science from an accredited institution. Public library experience preferred.

Position Description: The Lisle Library District is looking for an energetic, outgoing and sociable Elementary School Coordinator. Duties include managing youth services volunteers, youth programming, collection development and public desk service. The position requires creativity and flexibility with regards to programming for a wide range of ages. The position also includes outreach coordination with several local elementary schools. Will often work in teams, both in the department and across the library.
Qualifications: Candidates must have an ALA accredited master’s degree in Library Science and two years of experience working with children in a public services oriented environment. An excellent understanding of children’s literacy practices and extensive knowledge of current children’s literature is also required. This position requires superior communication skills, both written and oral, along with the ability to positively connect with children and their caretakers.
