Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ to Get the Broadway Treatment

Harper Lee’s classic 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird is poised to take center stage once again.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning book about race in small-town America is coming to Broadway during the 2017-18 season, producer Scott Rudin announced today.

The move marks a reversal for Lee, who after “To Kill a Mockingbird” was published told her agent she didn’t want there to be a Broadway adaptation of the novel, according to correspondence in the archives of her former agent at Columbia University. Click here for more information.
