SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Just the Facts nonfiction book group
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Please join us for our discussion of A More Perfect Heaven: How Copernicus Revolutionized the Cosmos by Dava Sobel. Do you know Copernius? You will by the end of this engaging biography! In 1539, Copernicus was visited by a stranger from Germany named Rheticus, who wound up staying with him for two years. Afterwards, Rheticus published On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres, a manuscript Copernicus had outlined, but never published. Sobel gives us not only a portrait of Copernicus, but of the forces of the time (such as the Reformation) that had a huge impact on his work.
