We had a fun (and sometimes uproarious) conversation with author Sarah Wisseman about her book, Burnt Seina, which was this month’s discussion title. In this book, Sarah introduces us to her second series character, Flora Garabaldi, an American ex-pat who is in Siena working at Restauro Lorenzetti as an art restorer. With Sarah’s background as a retired archaeologist and current artist, she conveys in-depth knowledge about art restoration – and her travels in Italy make Flora’s observations about the people and the culture there realistic and believable. We covered these areas and others, when Sarah joined us by Skype to talk about this book and her “other” career as a talented mystery writer!
