Join us for a "Throwback" Turtle Race on Saturday, August 1 at 1:30 pm!
As part of our 50th Anniversary celebration, we're reviving an old summer tradition – the annual Turtle Races! Started back in 1986 - former Youth Services librarian Lynn Tarantino thought that the library's two pet turtles, Jack and Jill, should race against others. With support from Irv Goldstein and the Friends of the Lisle Library, the annual turtle races continued into the mid-1990s. |
