Yet another successful M&M in Chicago has taken place! We had six members of Murder Among Friends who attended this year’s con: Bev, Cheryl, Luisa, Patricia, Sue, and Thea. Everyone reported that a great time was had! We also identified more authors we would love to have come or Skype with us. More on that when we meet for our planning meeting in July. In the meantime, here are a few pix of the panels and our tribe!
Roosevelt University even has a grand entrance to use in getting to the meeting room.

And here are MAF members Bev, Luisa and Sue with Patti proving we were having a grand time! MAF members also wore our new Member tags for the occasion.

Eric Beetner, supreme program host, introduced panelists and hilarious jokes. Here he's working his magic with the panel on publishing.
We got a chance to visit with a number of authors who've graced our meetings, including two authors on the Killer Instinct Panel: Julie Hyzy and Bryan Gruley.

And then we met new mystery authors, some local to our area, on the Crime: Next Generation Panel.

Attendees got two wonderful interview opportunities to get to know British & best-selling mystery author, Sophie Hannah. First, at the interview with local mystery author Susanna Calkins.
and then with Patricia Skalka, President of the Midwest chapter of Sisters in Crime spoke with Sophie at the Sisters in Crime lunch -- which a group of MAF-ers sat together to see.
The True Crimes panel had a moderator who is well-known for her crime and news reporting as moderator: Marcella Raymond from Channel 9! Attendees really enjoyed talking about how to give fictional crime a true sense of reality.

Co-Creator of Murder & Mayhem in Chicago, Dana Kay did the honors interviewing Scott Turow for the Keynote Address.

The day ended with the Dana and Lori Rader-Day presenting the third annual Sara Paretsky Award to Scott Turow. (The awards honors mysteries set in the Midwest.)

Here's hoping we all meet up at next year's M&M in Chicago!
