Friends of the Lisle Library District

The Lisle Library District is grateful for the rich history of support from the Friends of the Library. The Friends of the Library in conjunction with the Lisle Women's Club were key organizations that formed the Lisle Library District. The ongoing Booksale Nook in the Library is popular with patrons along with semi-annual booksales. Funds raised benefit the Library through programs and support.  Last fiscal year FY 2012-13 the Friends of the Library spent $5,800 on supplementary cultural programs for the Lisle Library District.

The Mission of the Friends of the Library is to:

  • Create public support for an expanding library programs
  • Work for library legislation and appropriations
  • Sponsor programs that add to the cultural life of the community
  • Encourage gifts, endowments and memorials to the library
