Home Delivery Volunteer

Lisle Library District is looking for a volunteer for the Adult Home Delivery Service program starting in November 2015.

We deliver books and other materials to library patrons who cannot physically visit the library. We deliver every other Wednesday, all year long. Our volunteers are friendly, active members of our community who appreciate this essential library service we provide our patrons. We value and thank them for their generosity of time. Join our team!

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that the patron’s materials arrive in a timely manner to the correct location in Lisle.
  • Retrieve materials from the patron and return them to library the same day.

Volunteer requirements:

  • To be able to lift and carry bags containing books and other library materials.
  • Have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must own or have access to a vehicle with proof of insurance that is current.
  • Be available Wednesday afternoons between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm.
