The Llama of Death by Betty Webb
Review: 3rd in the Gunn Zoo mystery series. This series follows zookeeper Theodora "Teddy" Bentley as she solves the murders of people whose deaths, in one way or another, affect the lives of her zoo animal charges. A fun read for animal lovers because Ms. Webb drops tidbits about animal behavior and behind-the-scenes zoo facts into her writing.

Mrs Pollifax and the Second Thief by Dorothy Gilman
Review: A perfect Summer read. It's funny, short, and somewhat light-hearted.  Great entertainment.

Under the Skin by Michel Faber
Review: An amazing book that I cannot discuss in detail for fear of spoiling some key plot points, but I would recommend this book for anyone who has an interest in science-fiction, veganism, classism, misogyny in society, animal rights, and the legalization of marijuana.    At times hilarious, and at times grim and depressing, it's amazing the way Faber was able to combine these two very different emotional elements into a stunning book that is able to make you laugh AND make you think.  Highly recommended.
