The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
Review: Never have I read a more precious and predictable piece of tripe.

Mrs. Pollifax and the Whirling Dervish by Dorothy Gilman.
Review:   This time she and old friend John Farrell go to collect a manuscript from an Iraqi author.  It's simple enough-until Mrs. P. is given a strange gift from a terrorist AND an Iraqi agent gets murdered.  These books will never win a prize for being great literature.  But for sure entertainment they wins hands down.  The characters seem like real people and the plots are wildly improbable.  That's what makes them so much fun. Another fun read!!!

Mrs. Pollifax, Innocent Tourist by Dorothy Gilman
Review: Another Great Read!  This time Mrs. P. sets off on an innocent enough quest.  she is to accompany an agent into Jordan and help him make sure that 7 CIA agents match their photographs.  It should be harmless. Until the agent she accompanies proves to be a murderer trying to dispose of the 7 agents!?!?  From there it gets wild!!!  What I really like   about these books is that they do not take themselves too seriously. It would be so easy to get wrapped up in the drama of being a secret agent.  These books avoid that.  Maybe it is because the idea of a 60 something grandmother being a
secret agent is so wild to begin with?  Anyway it was loads of fun and I highly recommend it.

Eggsecutive Orders by Julie Hyzy
Review: The third book in a series.  This series is interesting. It is fascinating to consider the ins and outs of working as a chef at the White House. There are lots of food ideas and tips in the book.  The main character is presented as somewhat naïve. But I would recommend the books (there are recipes at the end...).

The invention of wings by Sue Monk Kidd
Review: fictional story based on the historical Sarah Grimke and her sister about their fight for the abolition of slavery
Very quick read & I found it quite interesting being written from the different points of view.

The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd
Review: This was a very good story about the struggles Sarah Grimke fought for the abolition of slavery.  Fictional but inspired by history.
