Reviews from today!

Buffalo West Wing by Julie Hyzy
Review: Another in the series of White House chef.  It is more exciting and fast-paced than the previous books.  I like the insider view of a new administration in the White House and the terrorist plot.  I like the new boyfriend better than the old one as well.  Best of the four in the series I've read so far.

Memory Man by David Baldacci
Review: Amos Decker a high school football star turned pro; however, his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good, and left him with a head injury and side effect--he can never forget anything.

Nearly two decades later and a police detective, Decker returned from a stakeout one evening to find his wife, young daughter, and brother-in-law had been murdered.  His family destroyed, their killer's identity—as well as motive for the crime—a mystery, Decker is unable to forget a single detail from that horrible night.  Decker leaves the police force, loses his home, and winds up on the street, taking piecemeal jobs as a private investigator.   Over a year later, a man turns himself in to the police and confesses to the murders. At the same time a horrific event happens in Decker’s hometown  and he is called back in to help with the investigation. Decker also takes this chance to learn what really happened to his family that night.

Lowcountry Boneyard by Susan M. Boyer
Review: Sweet, sassy and Southern, this mystery/romance hybrid was a real treat.  Boyer does a great job of making Liz Talbot smart and resourceful but not unrealistically skilled.  I also liked how the romance in this book was true-to-life and mature instead of lust-based like in most novels.  This is the third book in a series.
