Author Crush on Rainbow Rowell
Today's Author Crush is on Rainbow Rowell. She's one of those authors that readers of all ages seem to love, and we've got her books in several spots in the library: Jh books in Youth Services, in our Teen Novel section, and we've even got some audiobooks! While she hasn't published many books, she has built up quite a fan base of people who love her stories. However, she's not above a bit of controversy. Eleanor & Park was challenged in Minnesota in 2013, after a group of librarians chose the book for a district's summer read. I found a good interview with Rainbow on The Toast (click on the link to get to it)
If you're thinking that maybe it's just some readers and librarians who love Rainbow, you may just want to check out what John Green wrote in the New York Times about Eleanor & Park. Click HERE -- and you'll see that yes, he's also a big fan of hers.
If you'd like to read some of her books, you may find Eleanor & Park in Youth Services (Jh ROW for the book, Jh CD ROW for the audiobook), in the Teen Novels (lower level - TN ROW) and you'll find Fangirl in the Teen Novels (TN ROW) and in Youth Services (Jh ROW). We also have Fangirl on audiobook -- CD F ROW (lower level, AV section). And yes, we have Attachments, her first adult fiction novel, in our Fiction collection (lower level - F ROW) and we have her newest adult book, Landline, on order for our Fiction collection, as well.
