The Lisle Library takes great pleasure in offereing a variety of volunteer opportunities for community tweens and teens (ages 11-17 OR grades 6-12).We believe that service should be fun and fulfilling for everyone involved. We offer the chance for you to gain relevant work experience, grow confidence, gain more responsibily. We offer you support and encouragement for your future goals and will provide reference letters upon request. We hope that through volunteering at the library, you find a place to succeed, be supported, gain friends, and have fun!
Interested? Here's a list of a few teen volunteer opportunities the Lisle Library offers:
Helping Staff Members: Cutting, folding, copying, cleaning DVDs and CDs.
Adopt-a-shelf: Tidy and organize our material collections.
Tutoring: Help others with homework, or teach them a skill.
Creating Videos: Help us to promote the library in a fun way!
Post on the Teen Blog: Review your favorite book, movie, cd, and/or video game.
Summer Reading Volunteer: Be a part of the largest group of volunteers at the library by supporting the largest program. Volunteers will primarily aid staff members during youth programs, lead/co-lead peer programs, sign-up participants for the Summer Reading Program, hand out prizes, and log minutes of books read by participants.
Teen Advisory Board Member: Members of our Teen Board judge contests, decorate the library, develop peer-programs, and make recommendations that positively impact the library and the community of Lisle. The Teen Board is always looking for new members.
