Overview
A strategic plan helps an organization plan its future. The Lisle Library District (LLD) has produced a Plan that is focused on Awareness, Resources, and Property. These focus areas will guide the LLD as we expand access, actively bolster lifelong learning, and increase awareness of Library resources to benefit all District residents. This Plan will advance the LLD forward for the next three years.
The 2025-2028 LLD Strategic Plan was adopted by the Board of Trustees on August 13, 2025.

The Lisle Library District will:
- Support the American Library Association’s (ALA) Library Bill of Rights which affirms
the freedom of expression and encourages the free flow of ideas - Provide materials, technologies, services, and programs that help meet the diverse and ever-changing needs of patrons, both within and beyond Library walls
- Operate efficiently, deliver beneficial outcomes, and serve with integrity and accountability
- Promote diverse resources, services, and programs to reach a wide audience, using various media channels
- Employ approachable, qualified, and knowledgeable staff; affording employees a stimulating and productive work environment
- Offer exceptional patron service and strong community relations
- Encourage cooperative relationships and partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, other libraries, and local businesses
- Provide a welcoming, functional, and accessible environment in both physical and digital settings
