The Lisle Library District (LLD) is open to the public
Due to the continued risk of COVID-19, the LLD has implemented user requirements, added services, and limits on some of our resources and space. As of July 29, 2021, the LLD has reinstated requiring the wearing of masks while visiting the faciity per the most recent DuPage County Health Deparment statements/statistics. Please see the below guidelines for Library use:
- Monday – Friday: 9:30 am to 9:00 pm
- Saturday – 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
- Sunday – 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Masks are required to be worn within the facility.
- The DuPage County Health Department has determined that DuPage County is at substantial risk for COVID-19.
- Children under 12 are not yet eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine
- There are other residents who have not yet been vaccinated
- To ensure that the Library environment for patrons and staff remains a safe/healthy place
LLD staff will greet patrons at the entrance and also have complimentary face masks. The LLD has adult and child-size masks. The LLD has automated hand sanitizer stations and hand-pumps throughout the building.
Public service desks have specific sanitization supplies for patrons using the public computers. One-on-one staff assistance is not yet available. However, staff will provide general directives and assist with LLD collection information. All patrons using pubilc computer must wear a mask and masks must be properly worn at all times (over the nose/mouth).
Group and quiet study rooms on the Adult level (near main Circulation Desk and Reference Desk) are available for public use. The Literacy Room is available for tutors and students. The doors to these rooms shall remain open for air circulation purposes. The larger meeting room (Meeting Room A) will be open for reservation as of Monday, August 16, 2021. See new guidelines here. Public seating and tables for study/meeting are available on the Youth and Adult Services floors.
Curbside Pick-up continues! This added service was initiated on May 18, 2020 to provide Library materials while the building was closed. We know that there are residents who aren’t yet comfortable coming into a public building. There are also patrons who just really appreciate the convenience of placing holds online and having a drive-up option. Either way, we are here to serve you. Online Library Card registration continues. For more information, click HERE.
I'm so proud of our community and the LLD staff for keeping each other healthy and safe this past year. And even though we seem to be entering a new phase of this pandemic, our community has truly stepped up and has complied with the Library's safety/health protocols. Day by day, the LLD continues to assess health and safety matters that affect the facility and its users.
